National Heritage Week in August Celebrates Ireland's Great Traditions Passed Down Through Generations

National Heritage week runs from the 12 -20 August with over 1000 events celebrating skills, traditions and practises passed down from generation to generation in Ireland. Heritage week is perfectly timed for the school holidays with plenty to entertain both adults and children. You can learn about Barn Owls in an outdoor classroom at Ballyhoura in Co Limerick on the 20 August, the craftsmanship behind Ireland’s traditional stained-glass industry at the National Gallery in Dublin on the 18 August, take a Viking family tour at the National Museum of Ireland from the 18 - 20 or join one of the tours of historic Tarbert House in Co Kerry.
